Monk, two minors held for sexually assaulting boy

A monk was arrested and two minor boys were apprehended from an ashram here on the charge of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old boy, an inmate of the ashram, the police said today.
The police arrested the monk Khirodsahi Das and the two minors, who were also inmates of the ashram, last night after the victim's mother lodged a police complaint, Assistant Commissioner of Police Abhijit Sarkar said.
The victim, hailing from a very poor family, had fled from the Gauriya Moth located in the Old Police Line area here three days ago and reached home.
As he was not at all willing to return to the ashram, his mother enquired and the matter came to light, Sarkar said.

The district court remanded the monk to two days' jail custody while the two minor boys would be produced before a juvenile court.
