Mortal remains of 8 dead buried after 632 days

The Mortal remains of eight youths who died in Churachandpur during the protest against the passing of three Inner Line Permit related Bills in mid-2015 were buried today by volunteers of the Joint Action Committee against Anti-Tribal Bills and other civil bodies.
Last rites of the dead were also performed today and floral tributes paid after the remains were brought from the District Morgue and taken to the public ground near Khuga Dam.
Human chain rally were also formed to show respect to those who died in the incident.
Churachandpur district Deputy Commissioner R Sudan, yesterday had distributed a cheque of Rs 10 lakh to the next of the kin of the victims along with appointment letter for state government job.
A cheque of Rs 2 lakh to the permanently disabled were also provided along with appointment orders for employment in the state government.
The development was part of the agreement that was signed between the JAC and the N Biren Singh-led state government on May 10 last.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) included that all the demands of the JAC be met and the remains of the eight dead be buried before May 25.
