'Mother of arrested SDM opened lockers without due paper work'

CBI today apprehended mother and sister-in-law of arrested SDM Rahul Aggarwal while they were allegedly depositing valuables in three lockers purportedly opened on Saturday at a bank without any documentation. Indian Bank without any documentation.
CBI sources said these lockers were allegedly opened on June 4 at Paharganj branch of Indian Bank, a day after the agency had arrested Aggarwal in a bribery case, but no documentation was done while valuables were stored in it.
The CBI alleged today mother and sister-in-law of Aggarwal arrived to complete formalities and make further deposits when they were apprehended by the waiting team of the agency.
The sources claimed to have recovered valuable diamond jewellery and also costly watches like Rolex and Omega from these three lockers.
The duo were questioned by the agency but have not been arrested in the case, they said. CBI is also probing how the lockers were allowed to be opened without any documentation process and will question the bank manager in this regard.
Meanwhile, during searches at the residence of alleged middleman Sandeep, the agency has found a 9 mm pistol without any valid documentation.
Aggarwal, a 2012-batch Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands Civil Service (DANICS) officer, posted at Saraswati Vihar along with a alleged tout Sandeep and builders Vijendra and Ashwani Yadav were arrested by the agency in the alleged bribery case in the night of Jun 2. All the four persons have been sent to two days of CBI custody today.
The officer, a Chemical engineer, joined DANICS in 2012 and very soon was given the first posting as SDM in the Saraswati Vihar, near Rohini area, in 2015.
It is alleged that Sandeep used to get him information about illegal constructions, encroachments by shops in the area on the basis of which notices were issued to erring persons, they said.
