Motley Crue announce retirement, final tour

Iconic rock band Motley Crue are hanging their guitars for good after three decades of making music.
The 'Girls, Girls, Girls' hitmakers are planning to say goodbye with a 72-city north America tour, a tribute album and a film, based on their memoir 'The Dirt'.
The band members, comprising Vince Neil, Nikki Sixx, Mick Mars and Tommy Lee, have signed a legal agreement promising not to perform as Motley Crue after 2015.
Their final tour starts July 2 and lasts till November. Rocker Alice Cooper will join them.
"We've talked about this for years. It's because we are on top, holding it together. We wanted to leave a legacy (and) we feel there are a lot of bands that don't have dignity. We want to call it a day and be proud," bassist Nikki Sixx said in the conference.

Singer Vince Neil said they wanted to call it quits together.

"We don't want to be one of those bands where one guy is left. We wanted to go out with the four founding members and go out on top," he said.
Lee said they always wanted to go with a bang.
"Everything must come to an end. We always had a vision of going out with a big... Bang and not playing county fairs and clubs with 1 or 2 original band members. Our job here is done."
The Final Tour will coinside with a film on the band, based on the book 'The Dirt'. 'Bad Grandpa's Jeff Tremaine has signed on to direct the movie that is slated to release next year.

"It is unpredictable... What happens when you are around a bunch of guys who are expected to be as bad as possible and the toll it takes on everyone. I feel really connected to the material. It has got all the material to be a great movie," Tremaine said.
Formed in 1980, the group came to be known as the most notorious rock group thanks to the hedonistic lifestyle of its four members. They often had brushes with law for their involvement with drug and women.
Some of the greatest hits of Motley Crue include 'Girls, Girls, Girl', 'Helter Skelter', 'Live Wire', 'Smoke The Sky', 'Red Hot', 'Looks That Kill', 'Shout At The Devil' and 'Don't Go Away Mad'.
