Move to allow state run schools to migrate to CBSE opposed

The Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) today opposed Assam Government's move to allow 50 state-run schools to migrate to CBSE, alleging that it is a move to privatise secondary education in the state.
In a statement issued by the organisation, AJYCP president Biraj Kumar Talukdar asked the government not to proceed with the move.
Talukdar said, "We are dead opposed to the idea where the BJP-led government in Assam has been trying to keep the students away from our age old culture, tradition, ethos and environment.
"It is nothing but a move to privatise the secondary education where the market forces would matter," he asserted.

The AJYCP president also questioned the Government's preparedness to uplift a section of private schools where some others promoting local language and culture have been left out.
