Move to appoint Kangana as face of Himachal tourism dropped

The idea of making actress Kangana Ranaut the face of Himachal Pradesh tourism has been dropped due to procedural delays, a senior state official said.
Vice Chairman of Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Board, Vijay Singh Mankotia, said vigorous efforts were made to rope in Kangana, hailing from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh, but the idea has been finally dropped.
He added that he would personally write to the actress to apologise for the mess-up.
The matter was raised at a Meeting of the Board yesterday in the presence of Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and Mankotia expressed his displeasure over the delay due to bureaucratic hurdles.

He told the meeting there was no need to push the matter.
