Three persons, including a woman and her two children, were killed and six others injured Monday in a road accident involving three cars near Bandol town in Madhya Pradesh, police said.

The accident occurred after a car suffered a tyre burst on the national highway, around 23 kms from the district headquarter, and landed in the opposite lane, where it collided with another car, a police officer said.

In the meantime, another SUV also rammed into these two cars, he added.

The deceased persons were travelling in the car that had suffered the tyre burst.

"They are identified as Anuja Dev (36), her son Arash (6) and daughter Arne (12), all residents of Secunderabad," said Seoni Kotwali police station in-charge Arvind Jain.

Anuja's husband Ashish Dev (40), who was driving the car, survived with minor injuries.

Those injured in the accident were travelling in rest two cars.

They are identified as Dhanwan Shah, his wife, and their nine-year old daughter, Jain said, adding that the condition of Shah and his wife is critical.

They were referred to Nagpur in neighbouring Maharashtra for further treatment.

Other two injured persons are identified as Pawan Jain and his son.
