The Chennai-based tyre manufacturer had posted a net profit of Rs 227.28 crore in the same period last fiscal.
Net sales of the company rose 9.39% to Rs 3,335.30 crore in the third quarter as compared to Rs 3,048.85 crore in the same period a year ago, MRF Ltd said in a filing to the BSE.

The company, which follows October-September as its financial year, also said its board has declared interim dividend of Rs 3 per equity share.
MRF shares ended at Rs 24,651.10 apiece on the BSE, up 7.27% from its previous close.
