FBI special agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully enter a dark room, looking cautious with gun in their hands, in the first footage of the upcoming "The X-Files" reboot.
The new sneak peek can be seen at the end of "201 Days of The X-Files" teaser, which reminds fans that there are 201 days left before the return of the sci-fi horror series.
"I believe that what we're looking for is in the X-files. I'm more certain than ever that the truth is in there," Mulder says in voiceover.
Scully tells her partner, "I've heard the truth, Mulder. Now what I want are the answers." Meanwhile, the scene shows Mulder and Scully entering a dark room, looking cautious with gun in their hands.
"The X-Files" six-episode event series will launch with a two-night premiere on Sunday, January 24 and Monday, January 25 on FOX.
In addition to David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson who reprise their roles as Mulder and Scully respectively, Joel McHale joins the cast as Tad O'Malley, a conservative talk show host who becomes an unlikely ally to Mulder, and Annet Mahendru stars as Sveta, a possible alien abductee.
Series creator Chris Carter says the miniseries will feature brand new monsters.
"We're not going to reboot any of the old favorites, although it was something we all thought about," he said in June. "These are all brand new stories. We hope to scare you in brand new ways.
