The Congress has made a cleap sweep in the elections to Bhor Municipal Council in Pune district by winning all the 17 seats as well as the post of president.
The election results were announced on July 16, a day after the voting took place.
Apart from winning all the 17 seats in Bhor, the party also won the president's post in Rajapur Municipal Council, for which the by-election was held on July 16 and the results were announced the same day.
Congress nominee Jamir Khalife trounced the nominee of BJP, Swabhimani Paksha and Shiv Sena alliance to win the president's post in Rajapur Municipal Council.
In other council bypolls, the BJP bagged one seat in Niphad, two in Shegaon, while Shiv Sena won a seat in Poladpur. Congress won a seat in Lohara, while an independent candidate won a seat in Wai.
