Veerakumar was nabbed from Kaloor area in the city this morning, they said.
Veerakumar, hailing from Sankar Nagar in Kancheepuram, was arrested by Tamil Nadu police in 2014 for allegedly killing his wife Mahalakshmi.
He was absconding after securing bail while in judicial remand.
Veerakumar had come to Kochi after hiding in Chennai for some time, police said.
Investigations conducted with the assistance of the cyber cell of the Kerala police helped them apprehend the accused, they added.
Veerakumar would be handed over to the Tamil Nadu police later today after the completion of all formalities, they added.
