Singer Ellie Goulding has revealed her body began to "give up" when she was at the worst point of her exhaustion.
The 29-year-old singer took some time off work recently when she was given the diagnosis by the doctor but admits she didn't realise just how bad it was at the time, reported Daily Mirror.
"I was diagnosed with exhaustion a couple of months back, but it's only now that I realise how bad it really was.
"When I think back to my tiredness, my slump, not wanting to exercise and not being interested in anything ... It wasn't depression, it was just my body giving up."
Meanwhile, the singer announced she would be taking some time off in mid July for exhaustion and for fear she would lose her voice entirely.
"I've had to cancel some festivals this weekend because of exhaustion. I've done nearly 100 shows this year and my doctor has said if I do this weekend my voice might not bounce back from it. They did a bunch of tests on me and I have been diagnosed with exhaustion.
"I'm a hard worker. I don't cancel anything unless I really need to, but my doctor said, 'Ellie, your voice is going to burn out'. Glastonbury was the point where I realised I was pretty exhausted. It's all good though - I'm feeling really positive about the rest of the year.
