Union minister J P Nadda today listed out the initiatives taken by the Centre for the upliftment of Himachal Pradesh and asked the people to vote out the "corrupt" Congress-led government in the state.
Hitting out at Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh over a slew of corruption charges against him, Nadda said the people should vote for an "honest, efficient and corruption-free government" in the coming elections.
Addressing the 'Abhar rally' here, the health minister said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given liberal financial aid and developmental projects to the state, and the only way to pay back was to oust the Congress government and install the BJP government in the state.
"The AIIMS coming up in the state at a cost of Rs 1,350 crore and spread over an area of 200 acres would revolutionise the economy of the state. The facility will have 30 specialties, medical and nursing colleges with intake of 100 MBBS and 50 nursing students, 750 bedded hospital, hostel accommodation for 1,400 students, researchers and doctors. It will also provide direct employment to 3,000 persons and indirect employment to thousands of others," he said.
It will bring revolution in Bilaspur area and cater to the needs of locals and tourists, he said.
The senior BJP leader said a steel processing plant set up at a cost of Rs 70 crore would ensure supply of cheap steel and reduce construction cost.
Similarly, the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) in Una district would also usher in an era of digitisation and lay the foundation stone of modern Himachal, he said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who launched the BJP's campaign in the poll-bound state today, inaugurated the 'Digital Nerve Centre (DiNC)' set up by TATA Trusts and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to transform the health care system in Bilaspur.
