On the fifth day of his visit to Japan, Naidu held a meeting with Hitachi Group representatives today, according to a statement from his office.
During the meeting, Naidu offered to set up a 'Japanese desk' for faster clearance of investment proposals. Those having knowledge of Japanese language would be appointed in the desk.
Urging that the action plan for development prepared by his government be studied, Naidu appealed that Hitachi support the endeavour.
Hitachi's in-charge for smart city projects Akiko Tobi gave a presentation on developing smart cities and their experience.
Pointing out that Singapore is helping Andhra Pradesh in preparing a master plan for development of the state's capital city, Naidu said the capital would emerge as a world-class city if Japan also joined the endeavour.
The state government has identified Vijaywada-Guntur region to locate the capital.
