: The Chief Ministers of southern states, including N Chandrababu Naidu and Pinarayi Vijayan, would attend a function here on December 16 to unveil a statue of late DMK chief M Karunanidhi, party president M K Stalin said Monday.
The DMK had announced that Congress leader Sonia Gandhi would unveil the statue.
The programme would be attended by Naidu and Vijayan, Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh and Kerala, respectively, besides V Narayanaswamy, Puducherry Chief Minister, Stalin told reporters.
"While the statue-unveiling is scheduled at Anna Arivalayam (the DMK headquarters), a public meeting will be held later at the YMCA Ground," he said.
Works were progressing well in this regard, he added.
Karunanidhi passed away on August 7 this year and he was buried at the Marina beachfront.
