"We want to know from the government whether it has diverted the sugar meant for distribution in other constituencies of Anantnag district to the Assembly segment where the Chief Minister is a candidate," Abdul Majid Larmi, NC MLA from Homeshali Bugh said during question hour in the Assembly here.
He was also joined by his party colleague and Pahalgam MLA Altaf Ahmad Wani, who alleged that the sugar was used as an inducement to seek votes for the ruling party candidate in the June 22 elections.
"Whatever stock of food grains was available in respective districts have been distributed among the people. We have not diverted any foodgrain from one area to another," he said.
