"This categorisation would help minimise injustice faced by the OBCs," Commission Chairman Justice V Eshwaraiah told reporters after holding a public hearing with delegates of 10 castes and communities seeking inclusion in the central backward class list.
"Time has come for public to come up with representations to delete or exclude some of the advancedcommunities who are taking away the benefits of MBCs," Eswaraiah said.
"Advanced communities within the OBCs are taking away the benefits of MBCs and the MBCs are therefore not getting justice," he said.
The Chairman said the socio economic caste census should be published.
He said the Commission had asked for the views of states on berthing orphaned children in the OBC list.
"Such new avenues such as orphans and trans-genders should be taken care of as they also need affirmative policy and reservation," he said.
"Some states like Tamil Nadu had provided reservation for orphans in the state list. Similarly, Telangana had also included the orphans recently in the state list of OBC," he said.
The Commission had held public hearings in 19 States so far, he said.
