NDA constituents to meet for Winter Session strategy

NDA constituents are meeting on Wednesday to firm up strategy for the Winter Session, in which the Congress-led opposition is likely to make spirited attempts to corner the treasury benches over a host of issues, including the alleged rise in intolerance in the country.
The BJP parliamentary party executive will also meet on the eve of the session at the Prime Minister's residence followed by the NDA meeting.
"The executive will meet on November 25," parliamentary party office secretary Balasubrahmanyam Kamarsu said.
The executive comprises key party leaders, including its chief Amit Shah.
While the massive win of the JD(U)-RJD-Congress alliance in Bihar has fired up the opposition ranks, it has come as a dampener for BJP.

Speaker Sumitra Mahajan has also called an all-party meeting later in the evening on Wednesday.

Government has declared November 26 as the Constitution Day and the first two days of Parliament will be devoted to it.
With land ordinance allowed to lapse, the government's priority in the Session will be to take up three other ordinance-related bills.
Two of these bills are The Negotiable Instruments (Amendment) Bill, 2015 to deal with cheque bounce cases; and The Commercial Division and Commercial Appellate Division of High Courts and Commercial Bill, 2015 that enables the creation of commercial divisions in high courts.
Another bill is needed to convert The Arbitration and Conciliation (Amendment) Ordinance, 2015 into an Act, which was brought to achieve the purpose of speedy settlement of disputes via arbitration.

As the Monsoon Session remained a near wash-out and Opposition parties have closed ranks to corner the government on various issues in both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha even in the Winter Session, the government floor managers are working out a strategy to pass the less contentious bills.
