In the plains of Punjab and Haryana, Hisar was hottest place with a high of 37.5 degrees celsius, one notch above normal, the MeT office said.
While Patiala had a high of 35.4 degrees celsius, two notches above normal, the maximum temperature at Ambala was 34.8 degrees celsius, also two notches above normal.
Among other places, Chandigarh settled at a high of 34.6 degrees celsius, two notches above normal followed by 34.5 degrees celsius at Narnaul, one notch above normal and 33.5 degrees celsius at Ludhiana.
The MeT forecast light to moderate rain or thundershowers at isolated places in the region during the next 24 hours.
