On September 17, Mukesh Sanghvi, a jeweller, was robbed of gold ornament at Carnac Bridge in south Mumbai when he and two of his colleagues were heading for Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus in a taxi, a senior police official said.
"A week later, the crime branch and Pydhonie police arrested four persons in this connection and recovered 1,654 gms of gold ornament, valuing Rs 45 lakh," he said.
Following interrogation of the arrested accused, DCB-CID UNIT 2 conducted further probe in Bangalore, Navi Mumbai and Mira Road, besides the city.
Until now, police have recovered 6273 gms of the stolen gold bar and ornamnent, which comes to almost 96 per cent of the robbed items, he added.
