Newly appointed Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Kaliko Pul today called for "zero tolerance" in essential service sectors and said the government would leave no stone unturned to acheive their targets.
Pul said the essential service sectors would be accorded top priority, provided sufficient fund, adequate manpower, proper infrastructure and efficient monitoring at all levels for effective deliverance.
There would be transfer and posting of required officials, suspension and termination of the erring ones who fail perform in accordance to their assigned duties, he said.
The essential service sectors identified include health, education, power, water supply, effective policing and investment and revenue generation, a report from the CMO said.
"Peace is pre-requisite for any kind of development and for ensuring peace, prompt and firm policing is must", Pul said and directed the police administration and magistrates to deal with lawlessness strictly.
Admitting that the police department lacked adequate manpower and faced hurdles created by political corridors in the maintenance of law and order, he instructed the Director General of police to ensure that there is no breach of law and order and those found involved in illegal activities be booked as per law without succumbing to any pressure.
Pul announced that awards and cash incentives would be given as encouragement to the police and magistrates for their prompt actions.
He also ordered immediate recruitment of 2200 police personnel and expediting setting up of women police stations in all districts with at least 20 women police personnel in each.
"A total 400 women police personnel will be recruited paving the way for women empowerment and employment," he said adding all backlogs of the department including supply of uniform and expenses would be released immediately.
According top priority to education and health sectors, Pul said he would ensure all the colleges and schools in the state have sufficient subject teachers in a year's time. Besides, stipends to students would be dispensed on monthly basis and there would be regular release of salaries to all categories of staff.
Referring to the health sector, he emphasised the need to put in place required manpower and infrastructure for treating the rural population and announced creation of more than 2000 posts of medics and para-medics including specialists for efficient health delivery system.
