The Gujarat government would soon announce new policies for MSME sector as well as start-up businesses, state Finance Minister Saurabh Patel said here today.

The announcement comes after the state recently declared its Electronics policy, IT policy and e-Governance policy.

Replying to a question on government's strategy to boost MSME (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) in Gujarat, Patel said, "Just wait for sometime, Gujarat government will announce a new policy for MSME sector soon."

Further, the minister added that government is also working on a separate policy for the development of start-up businesses.

"We are also mulling over a new 'start-up policy' to encourage and support new innovations. We have invited suggestions from experts in this field to find out ways to help young entrepreneurs in the state," said Patel.

Giving details about the industrial exhibition, to be organised by Vadodara Chamber of Commerce & Industry (VCCI) between November 27- December 1 in Vadodara, Patel said the expo is also designed to provide platform to young innovators from SME and MSME sectors.

"The exhibition will have 600 stalls of different sectors, such as engineering and machine tools. For the first time, we have also given space to 115 innovations, selected from several entries after scrutiny. In coming days, we are planning to organise such exhibitions in other cities ahead of Vibrant Summit-2015," Patel said.
