"Extremely happy to share that #Newton is in the world competition section of @Tribeca. Cant wait to be there. Congrats team #Tribeca2017," Rajkummar posted on Twitter.
Director Amit V Masurkar's film opened to a good response when it was screened in a houseful theatre at the Berlin International Film Festival last month.
Rajkummar plays the titular role in the political black comedy that centres around an election day in Central India.
Filmmaker Hansal Mehta congratulated the film's team, saying, "Amazing to see #Newton go places on the festival circuit. Now in world competition at #Tribeca. Congratulations @RajkummarRao @ManMundra.
