Neyveli Lignite Net jumps 121 pc to Rs 489 cr in Dec quarter

Neyveli Lignite Corp today reported a 120.6 per cent spurt in net profit at Rs 489.02 crore for the third quarter ended December 31 on the back of rise in other income.
The company's net profit in the corresponding quarter of the last financial year stood at Rs 221.65 crore, the company said in a filing to BSE.
Its total income from operations increased to Rs 1,314.95 crore compared to Rs 1,255.70 crore in the corresponding period in the previous fiscal, it said.
Other income of the NLC zoomed to Rs 553.41 crore in the quarter under review versus Rs 115.44 crore in the third quarter of FY'13.
"Other income includes an amount of Rs 426.63 crore towards dues of surcharge and interest receivable from Tangedco," it said.
