A bench comprising Chief Justice T S Thakur and R Banumathi asked senior advocate KTS Tulsi to move the tribunal with the plea that the vintage car rally be allowed to be held in the national capital as it would generate funds for disabled children.
During the hearing, Tulsi referred to the part of December 16, 2015 order of the apex court and sought its modification on the ground that it prohibited the NGT from entertaining the plea on the car rally.
The bench today clarified that it has not stopped any judicial forum from entertaining any plea and passing order.
The Tribunal had last year directed that no old car would be permitted to ply on the roads of Delhi citing its November 26, 2014 order, which had banned all vehicles older than 15 years from plying in Delhi.
The green panel had also made it clear that any authority would not issue fitness certificates to these vintage cars without specific order of the tribunal.
