Following a meeting with Rijiju on the issue yesterday, Goyal instructed NHPC to cancel the decision and retain the office of ED at Itanagar, a statement by Rijiju said here today.
All the officers of NHPC were also asked to resume work from Itanagar office at the earliest, it said.
The NHPC had earlier decided to shift ED offices from Dehradun, Chandigarh and Kolkata along with Itanagar.
There are six projects in the state by NHPC under various stages of execution. They are 3000 mw Dibang Multi-purpose project, Tawang I (600 mw), Tawang II ( 800 mw), Siang Stage I (3750 mw), Siang Stage II (6000 mw) and the 2000 mw Lower Subansiri project.
The decision had also hurt the sentiment of the people and should be reverted, Rijiju said.
Chief Minister Nabam Tuki had also talked to Goyal over phone on the issue yesterday.
