With acrimony between former NDA ally JD(U) and BJP intensifying in Legislative Assembly, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today intervened and urged members to maintain "decorum" and pleaded to remove "unsavoury" words used by them from the proceeding.
Kumar's intervention came when the House was locked in slogan shouting and trading of charges against each other by members of JD(U) and BJP.
JD(U) Chief whip Shrawan Kumar protested BJP members calling two ministers -- Shyam Rajak and Bhim Singh -- "thieves" and said the treasury bench members would not allow the House to function till apology was tendered by opponents.
He was joined in protest by JD(U) members Manjit Kumar Singh, Ajit Kumar and others.
BJP members were protesting "false" allegations against its two former ministers -- Ramadhar Singh and Giriraj Singh -- in insurance payment to farmers by a JD(U) legislator.
The chief minister said one can level charge against a minister or a member only after seeking permission from the Chair on the basis of proper documents.
"Allegations shall be in accordance with the rules of the House," he said and appealed to members to apply restrain.
Leader of Opposition Nand Kishore Yadav also stressed on compliance of rules in trading personal charge on any member.
After the chief minister's appeal, Speaker Uday Narayan Chaudhary said the Chair accepts the suggestion and would order removing "unsavoury" words used by any member from the House proceeding.
