".. Unit I 250MW of Thermal Power Station-II expansion project (2x250 MW) at Neyveli, nation's first project of this size with Circulating Fluidised Bed Combustion {CFBC) Boiler technology, has been successfully declared for commencement of commercial operation with effect from yesterday," NLC said in a BSE filing.
The CFBC technology is being adopted for 250 MW capacity units for the first time in India, it claimed.
"With the commissioning of the unit, the TPS-II expansion project of 500 MW is put into commercial operation," it said.
With the commercial operation at the unit , total power generation of NLC would increase to 2,990 MW from the existing 2,490MW, an official said.
Shares of the company were trading at Rs 82.25 a piece, up 0.61 per cent over the previous close in the afternoon BSE.
