The submission was made by Advocate General V C Mishra, assisted by senior counsels S M A Kazmi and O S Siddiqui before Justice Vikram Nath who was hearing a contempt petition filed by Nawab Qaim Ali, a Congress MLA who represents Suar constituency of Rampur.
The petitioner had alleged that Hamid Gate, a historical building situated in Rampur city, has been demolished following instructions from Khan, notwithstanding a court order dated December 10, 2013 restraining the state government from doing so.
