Replying to a specific question on continued checking in the estate area, Ramba told reporters that the same check post and number of police personnel are on duty at the Kodanadu Estate entrance after the murder of a security guard some four months ago.
"There is no link between beefed up police security in Poes Garden (at Chennai) and routine checking in Kodanadu," he clarified.
Asked about reports of additional cameras being installed in the estate, Ramba said there was no such installation from the police side.
Security was strengthened yesterday at Jayalalithaa's Veda Nilayam residence at Poes Garden a day after chief minister K Palaniswami announced that it would be converted into a memorial.
