No slackness in maintaining law & order : East Singhbhum DC

The Deputy Commissioner of East Singhbhum district, Amit Kumar today directed the concerned administrative and police officials that no slackness will be tolerated in dealing with law and order situation.
The directive was issued after Kumar convened an emergent meeting of the officials in the district headquarter here.
Earlier, while addressing a 'Jan Samvad' in connection with deteriorating law and order particularly spurt in criminal activities in Mango, Azadnagar, Olidih and MGM police station areas under his assembly segment (Jamshedpur West) on Tuesday, Jharkhand Food, Public Distribution and Consumer Affair Minister Saryu Roy threatened to resign if immediate action was not taken to rein in criminals.

No slackness in maintaining law and order will be tolerated, the DC said while asking the officials to identify government lands under Mango, Jugsalai and Jamshedpur Notified Area Committees and put up a board following a videography.
Expressing dissatisfaction over the action taken by the Excise department to check sale of illegal liquor, Kumar reprimanded the Assistant Commissioner of the department and asked him to ensure that not a single drop of illegal liquor be sold in the distirct.
The DC assured to provide adequate manpower, if needed, including magistrates and police force to conduct massive raid by forming team and report to him.

Kumar reiterated that the excise and police department should not fulfill formalities by arresting small fishes in the trade but catch the big one indulged in selling illegal liquor in an organized manner.

Strict action will be taken against erring officials if found adopting partial or negligent approach in this regard, he said.
The DC also asked the Senior Superintendent of Police as well as Superintendent of Police (city) to gather adequate intelligence about the criminal gangs involved in gang war and crush them to ensure peace and tranquility.
Besides, identify the criminals disturbing the prevailing law and order and recommend to bar their entry into the distirct, he said while asking to intensify patrolling to put rein on illegal lotteries, gambling etc.
