The directive was issued after Kumar convened an emergent meeting of the officials in the district headquarter here.
Earlier, while addressing a 'Jan Samvad' in connection with deteriorating law and order particularly spurt in criminal activities in Mango, Azadnagar, Olidih and MGM police station areas under his assembly segment (Jamshedpur West) on Tuesday, Jharkhand Food, Public Distribution and Consumer Affair Minister Saryu Roy threatened to resign if immediate action was not taken to rein in criminals.
Expressing dissatisfaction over the action taken by the Excise department to check sale of illegal liquor, Kumar reprimanded the Assistant Commissioner of the department and asked him to ensure that not a single drop of illegal liquor be sold in the distirct.
The DC assured to provide adequate manpower, if needed, including magistrates and police force to conduct massive raid by forming team and report to him.
Strict action will be taken against erring officials if found adopting partial or negligent approach in this regard, he said.
The DC also asked the Senior Superintendent of Police as well as Superintendent of Police (city) to gather adequate intelligence about the criminal gangs involved in gang war and crush them to ensure peace and tranquility.
Besides, identify the criminals disturbing the prevailing law and order and recommend to bar their entry into the distirct, he said while asking to intensify patrolling to put rein on illegal lotteries, gambling etc.
