Demonetisation has badly impacted traders, farmers and poor and there have been 105 deaths since the government banned old currency notes, Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav today claimed.
"Demonetisation has claimed 105 lives in the country. Black money does not come (disclosed) from such moves. Only 100 families in the country have black money. Prime Minister Narendra Modi should tell how much black money his friends have. Those having black money are with PM," he said.
"I know your friend has black money. I have met him also but will not take his name," he said, adding demonetisation has no effect on those keeping black money.
"The Centre's demonetisation move was not well executed and no preparations were made for it. There is no money in ATMs. People are standing in queues throughout the day. Traders, farmers and poor are feeling its adverse effect," he said at a party rally here.
People of the state will give them a befitting reply during elections, he said.
Like the Ghazipur rally, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav was not present in this rally too.
Yadav praised the performance of the present government saying "historic works were done in the present regime" and added that while "Congress and BJP were taking country backward, SP government is following path of development".
The SP supremo also praised former ministers sacked by son Akhilesh and said they were doing good work.
SP state president Shivpal Yadav also addressed the rally.
