Notorious interstate criminal held

A notorious interstate criminal carrying a reward of Rs 50,000 and wanted in several cases across Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Mumbai was arrested, police said today.

The accused -- Ansar alias Ansi -- was arrested on April 10 from Nelson Mandela Marg, Vasant Kunj. He was absconding since 2015 and remained active in criminal activities, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) P SKushwah said in a statement.

During interrogation, the officer said, "He disclosed that on June 25, 2015 he along with his associates Mubarik alias Raju, Tarif, Muddassar, Latif and Sadiq had abducted a businessman at gun point from Delhi Airport."
