Based on information about the movement of underground cadres on Mon-Tizit road, an operation was carried out by 35 Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (North) near Mon Village yesterday, said a release issued by PRO Assam Rifles.
Mon village is more than 300 kms from Kohima.
During the operation 13 NSCN(IM) cadres, who were travelling in two vehicles, were apprehended along with four AK-56 rifles, two HK-32 rifles, one MA-MK 4 rifles, four pistols and a large quantity of live ammunition apart from other warlike stores.
