The bourse's previous high in equity market segment was Rs 41,113 crore hit on April 21 this year.
As many as 117.24 crore shares were traded on NSE, amounting to Rs 43,621.27 crore, a record high for a day, the bourse said.
In comparison to NSE, cash market turnover on the BSE stood at Rs 3,747.51 crore.
