"Shila Marandi is a prominent Maoist leader. She has many cases against her name in Lathikata Police Station in Sundergarh district. We are searching for her for involvement in cases under other police stations," SP Rourkela, Anirudha Singh said today.
There was a non-bailable warrant (NBW) against her name, he added.
Shila, a resident of Birdihi in Jharkhand, is the wife of senior politburo member Kisan Da and was allegedly involved in some major Maoist activities in Odisha.
The Maoists, in 2011, had demanded her release from Jharkhand jail in exchange of the then Malkangiri collector R Vineel Krishna.
