The matter was mentioned by BJP's national general secretary and MLA Kailash Vijaywargiya in the House during the day-long special session of the assembly.
"The prestigious Forbes magazine has mentioned Prime Minister's name as the ninth most powerful person in the world which is matter of pride for over 1.25 billion Indians. He has enhanced the country's image in the world.
Backing the views of the BJP MLA, Speaker Sitasharan Sharma said, "This House congratulates the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It has raised the pride of the House as well as of the nation.
Responding to this, the Speaker said the House has kept up this tradition in the past. "There is no question of any violation of any rule," he said.
Prime Minister has been ranked as the world's ninth most powerful person by Forbes magazine in a 2015 list which is topped by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Modi was placed 14th in the 2014 Forbes list of world's powerful people.
