According to G Ramesh, Inspector of Police Rein Bazaar, the foreigner -- Badhar Yusuf Said who is on tourist visa in the country, lured the girl's parents with money and tried to marry her.
"We got a tip from the locals saying that the Omani national is trying marry the minor girl. We arrested him and foiled his attempt," Ramesh said.
A case under relevant sections of Prevention of Child Marriage Act and IPC has been registered in this connection, police said.
