Harpreet Singh, resident of Derabassi, was accused of cheating his partner of Rs three crore on the pretext of selling commercial plots at Zirakpur (Mohali) by issuing forged and fabricated cash receipts, agreement to sell, allotment letters and buyers agreement, police said.
He allegedly cheated the complainant by selling eight commercial plots and received huge amount for land which does not even feature in approved site plan of Greater Mohali Area Development Authority, they said.
Several other cases of cheating were also registered against him in Ambala, Chandigarh and Mohali, police said.
