The accident happened near Muktapur Moin village under Kalyanpur police station in the district. The deceased has been identified as Maheshwar Ram (55).
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Anand Kumar said the passengers in the SUV were returning from Balahi village to their native place in Ladaura village when the accident took place.
"The driver lost control of the speeding vehicle and it fell into a roadside ditch. Ram died on the spot, while the six injured were extricated and sent to Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) after first aid at a local health centre. Their condition is stated to be serious," Kumar added.
