Chitampalli was felicitated by Maharashtra Energy Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule on the occasion of World Forestry Day at a ceremony held recently, a release said here.
Appreciating the work of Chitampalli, Bawankule said, "Even in this age of global warming, if we are still able to breathe oxygen, it is only possible because of people like him. I would want that life of such people should be looked into as a kind of case study."
State Chief Conservator of Forests Anil Saxena, Managing Director of Forest Development Corporation of Maharashtra (FDCM) A K Nigam and environmentalist Girish Gandhi was also present on the occasion.
