A spokesman of the Food and Supplies Department said that out of the total arrival, government procurement agencies purchased more than 41.95 LT paddy while about 10.54 LT has been purchased by millers and dealers.
The Food and Supplies Department has purchased more than 19.12 LT of paddy, more than 14.85 LT have been purchased by HAFED, 4.34 LT have been purchased by the Haryana Agro- industries Corporation and more than 3.63 LT have been purchased by the Haryana Warehousing Corporation.
Of the total arrival, more than 10.07 LT paddy has arrived in Kurukshetra, 6.73 LT in Ambala, 6.52 LT in Kaithal, 4.52 LT in Fatehabad, 4.42 LT in Yamunanagar, 2.23 LT in Jind, 1.73 LT in Sirsa, 1.38 LT in Sonipat, 1.24 LT in Panchkula, 1.16 LT in Palwal, 39,569 tonnes in Hisar, 23,707 tonnes in Faridabad, 22,974 tonnes in Rohtak, 10,785 tonnes in Jhajjar, 4,420 tonnes in Mewat and 3,544 tonnes in Gurgaon.
The spokesman said that farmers have been advised to clean and dry their harvest properly before bringing them to the market so that they do not have to face any problems in storage due to high moisture content.
