Elsewhere, other grains traded in a narrow range in limited deals and settled around previous levels.
Traders said scattered demand from retailers against restricted supplies from producing region, mainly led to rise in rice basmati prices.
In the national capital, rice basmati common and Pusa-1121 variety were up by Rs 50 each to Rs 4,550-4,650 and Rs 3,750-4,350 per quintal, respectively.
