The Rhino Verification Committee (RVC) today checked 22 horns in Morigaon treasury where horns from the Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary are kept.
It has so far examined rhino horns in Golaghat (1193), Tezpur (56), Mangaldoi (59), Nagaon (550) and Morigaon (22).
The committee will now move to Barpeta where 33 horns are to examined and then to Guwahati where the treasury contains 99 horns, the statement added.
Verification of the horns is being done to check their genuineness and updating the complete inventory of horns kept in various treasuries in the custody of Assam government since 1980.
