The NBC comedy series will air back-to-back episodes for the duration of its 13-episode run, with the series finale scheduled to air on Tuesday, February 24, reported The Wrap.
NBC's entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt said, "Mike Schur and Amy Poehler, along with their incredible producers, cast and crew, have given us one of the great television comedies of all time, and we're inordinately proud of 'Parks and Recreation'.
"In an effort to give it the send-off it deserves, we wanted to 'eventise' the final season to maximise the impact of these episodes, which really do take the show to a new level.
Rob Lowe and Rashida Jones will reprise their roles as Chris Traeger and Ann Perkins in at least one episode of the final season.
Meanwhile, Jon Hamm has been confirmed to return as bumbling National Parks employee Ed.
