The ailing Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar was conferred with an honorary doctorate by the National Institute of Technology (NIT) here on Friday.
Parrikar is admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Delhi for a pancreatic ailment.
He was conferred with the doctorate in his absence by Vice President Venkaiah Naidu during the convocation of the NIT.
Goa Governor Mridula Sinha was also present on this occasion.
"I am truly honoured and humbled to receive the Honorary Doctorate Degree by National Institute of Technology Goa, at the hands of the Hon'ble Vice President Shri M Venkaiah Naidu ji," Parrikar tweeted from his hospital bed later.
