Parts of Punjab, Haryana receive light to moderate rains

Rains lashed many places of Punjab and Haryana today bringing down the mercury and giving a relief to the people from hot and humid weather conditions.
Chandigarh, which received light rains recorded a maximum temperature of 33.2 degrees Celsius, two notches below the normal limit.
In Punjab, Amritsar and Ludhiana received light rain and recorded maximum temperatures of 35.3 degrees Celsius and 33.3 degrees Celsius respectively.
Patiala recorded a high of 32.8 degrees Celsius, three notches below normal after moderate showers.
In Haryana, Ambala registered a maximum temperature of 32.4 degrees Celsius, down three notches, following heavy showers.
Karnal recorded a high of 30.8 degrees Celsius after light rain. However, Hisar had a hot day at 39 degrees Celsius.
The MeT department has forecast rain and thundershowers at a few places in Haryana and Punjab over the next two days.
