There was a minuscule growth of 0.31 per cent in air traffic in June compared with the same month last year -- from 309.16 lakh to 310.12 lakh. Air passenger traffic declined 1.84 per cent -- from 51.08 lakh in May to 50.14 lakh in June, the data showed.
Official sources said this decline was primarily due to the end of the peak air travel season.
The market share of another low-cost airline SpiceJet stood at 19.5 per cent, which was closely followed by Air India (Domestic) at 18.9 per cent. GoAir's market share stood at 8.9 per cent.
The data for seat factor or the average occupancy of airlines' seats showed IndiGo at the top slot with 81.3 per cent, followed by GoAir with 76.1 and Air India (Domestic) with 75.6. SpiceJet had a seat factor of 73.3 per cent, JetLite stood at 72.1 and Jet Airways 70.5.
