Patel had to start last for the second race after a
collision with a fellow competitor in the first race but fought his way to fifth place to finish behind the pole sitter Alex Yoong, who finished fourth.
The race was won by Marchee Lee of Hong Kong.
Earlier, starting fourth for the first race, Patel found himself in the path of a spinning Marchee Lee while fighting for the lead on turn two of the first lap.
The incident meant that Patel
would start last for the second race as he had not recorded a lap time in race one.
After the race, Patel said, "It wasn't the most ideal weekend. Marchee's mistake cost me my race but at least we managed to claw something back in the end and get some points out of the weekend.
"The second race was one of the most exciting races I've driven, having started last and moved up through the field. I'd like to thank my sponsors, JK Tyres, Audi India and Jubilant for all their support," he said.
