Petition in court against 'PK' for 'hurting' religious

A complaint was filed in a court here against actor Aamir Khan, director Rajkumar Hirani and producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra for their movie 'PK', alleging the trio have hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus and promoted "nudity and vulgarity" in the film.
The application was moved in the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Tarun Kumar Singh, here yesterday by a local lawyer Kamlesh Chandra Tripathi.
Today, the court accepted the petition and fixed January 6 for hearing in the case.
The lawyer in his complaint accused the trio of "deeply hurting" religious sentiments of Hindus in their film 'PK'. He also alleged that the movie presents a "satirical take on godmen."

The lawyer also charged the trio with "promoting nudity and vulgarity" as one of the posters of the film shows the actor in a nude pose except for a transistor covering his private parts.
The lawyer through his application in the court has sought for lodging of the case under IPC sections 294, 295 and 295 A (deliberate and malicious acts to outrage religious feelings) against the trio.
The lawyer has also moved another application in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) of Varanasi here seeking registration of an FIR against the managers or caretakers of five movie halls of Varanasi, where this film is currently being screened.

The court while accepting the complaint application today fixed January 8 as the date of hearing.
